Entropic Is on the Block

With the Apple (AAPL) hoopla starting to die down today, I turned my gaze to several other companies that I've been following. I have to admit that one of them has performed far worse that I had expected -- Entropic Communications (ENTR). The story hinged on the conversion of new design wins for its connected home chips, including with Eris, Cisco (CSCO), Humax, Motorola Solutions (MSI), Pace, Technicolor and TiVo (TIVO) for consumer-electronics devices. Those devices are slated to be deployed by the likes of Comcast (CMCSA), Time Warner Cable (TWC) and DirecTV (DTV) later this year.

Recently, Entropic put itself up for sale. In the company's own words, it is ''exploring strategic options amid order delays that it warned would continue through the year.''
