The next two articles will directly address how I utilize overnight Globex information to further my understanding of an opening gap in its proper context and how I approach the situation from the standpoint of an intraday trader.
For simplicity, please assume the instrument I am referring to is the Emini S&P futures contract. To be clear, the type of gap I will be addressing is one where the Es begins the current regular session (defined as all trading between 9:30 a.m. through 4:15 p.m. ET) outside of the prior regular session's intraday range.
