Tuesday's Market Review

Most market pundits have credited the recent strength in equities to the increasing likelihood that Speaker John Boehner and President Obama will reach a compromise on the fiscal cliff. But after hearing Sen. Bob Corker's comments on CNBC's Squawk Box Tuesday morning, I simply do not understand how so many can have such ironclad confidence that a deal will be reached during the current calendar year. In fact, it was Corker's comments ahead of the RTH open that triggered a brief correction in the Es contract. I may be in the minority on this one, but I believe there are a sufficient number of congressmen on both sides of the aisle that believe their fundamental views on taxes hikes and entitlement cuts preclude them from supporting anything other than a purely one-sided (and unrealistic) solution....363 more words left in this article.
