The regional banking sector has underperformed the broader financial space over the last six months, but KeyCorp (KEY) looks poised to break out of a recent channel decline and catch up with the money center leaders.

The weekly chart of KEY shows the rally from October 2011 low that peaked in March of this year. A two-month pullback retested the 50% retracement level of the five-month move and took the stochastics indicator into an oversold condition. A second five-month rally began in June, followed by another two-month 50% retracement, which has returned the stochastics indicator into oversold territory.
