Wednesday's Market Review
Wednesday's session will probably be best remembered for the shockingly large drop in shares of Apple (AAPL), but believe it or not there were a number of other meaningful business stories. The begin, Freeport-McMoRan (FCX) announced its intention to acquire both McMoRan Exploration (MMR) and Plains Exploration & Production (PXP). The premiums being paid to shareholders of both MMR and PXP were relatively large, so I suppose it's only natural that shares of FCX would be immediately hammered (though 15+% does seem a bit excessive)....884 more words left in this article.
