Before addressing Friday's Es auction I want to take a moment to discuss the recent Fiscal Cliff negotiations/developments. I haven't got the faintest clue how the Fiscal Cliff negotiations will pan out, but what I do know is that if they unfold anything like the ones that surrounded TARP or the most recent debt ceiling debacle, they will be neither smooth nor pleasant. If you're scalping ticks or trading within the day timeframe then feel free to react to the intraday news reports (I know I will).
