Winners in the Strong Euro Sweepstakes

Arnaud Montebourg is France's minister of industry, and as such, he is focused on exports. Since exports are sensitive to exchange rates, Montebourg is actively engaged in talking the euro down, saying last week that the currency is "too expensive, too strong." When he made similar comments on Tuesday morning, he helped deflate the euro rally, pushing the currency to a six-day low against the U.S. dollar.

Personally, I found Montebourg's comments useful, because he pushed the euro closer to our potential entry point for a long trade, which I discussed here. However, there is more to this story.
