A Spec Play Loaded With Potential
Office-supply company Acco Brands (ACCO) recently bought the consumer-and-office-products division of the forest products firm MeadWestvaco. Acco is on pace to achieve about $2.1 billion in 2012 sales. As for earnings per share, consensus estimates for this year and for 2013 now run at $0.81 and $1.01, respectively, on shares that closed Tuesday at just $6.20.
Acco has shown steady progress since the recession of 2008 to 2009 while exhibiting pretty exciting share-price volatility. The 52-week range has been between $4.33 and $13.28.
