Fill Up on Agriculture ETFs
On several occasions over the last year, I have voiced my concern about the impact rising food prices is having on consumers' disposable income and the margin pressure it is putting on restaurants. Those are direct pain points and of course there are indirect ones as well given the hundreds of uses for commodities, particularly corn. Rising food prices were in the spotlight due to the Midwest drought this summer and that was part of the driver behind the 10% increase in food prices recently reported by the World Bank.
A few weeks ago, I reiterated my view on McCormick (MKC) as a solid play on consumers shifting back to eating at home in the face of higher food and gas prices.
