Wrinkles in the Back-to-School Forecast
Over the last few weeks, I have visited a number of shopping malls to gauge the tone of this year's back-to-school spending season. Expectations from the National Retail Federation were high, as the organization forecasted a 22% increase over last year.
As a reminder, back-to-school is the second-largest spending period, surpassed only by the Christmas holiday shopping season.
