Ford Is the Better Investment Vehicle

Automaker General Motors (GM) (click here for our report on this company) has halted production of its hybrid model, the Chevy Volt, for at least four weeks. Since the Volt was supposed to be an innovative product, this announcement certainly comes as a shock. We estimate that GM has spent tens of millions of dollars marketing the vehicle (who hasn't seen the commercial where drivers brag about not going to gas stations?), which appears to have resulted in just 10,000 units sold vs. a company projection of 45,000. Though we generally view the auto sector as highly cyclical and generally not attractive near economic peaks (which we are far from), the domestic original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) at today's levels are certainly offering compelling valuations....565 more words left in this article.
