Novice Trade: VXX

It seems that every Presidentially created issue receives less Volatility Index emphasis than the one before it. Take a look at what has happened over the last three weeks. Thursday two weeks ago, the President said something silly, markets tanked and VIX exploded. The same thing happened last week, when he again said something ridiculous and markets sold off with the VIX exploding.

This week, however, in Arizona he again said something silly -- in this case about shutting the government down and killing Nafta -- and markets barely blinked.
