Off the Charts

The market came under pressure for the third straight session after yesterday's break of 1700, but was able to pare the early morning losses. The tepid bounce wasn't enough to get them back in the green, though, as all three major indices closed the day down about 0.30%.

The S&P pierced its 21-day moving average during today's session but was able to reclaim it by the close. At this point the jury is out as to whether today's low will stick. It is August so the market could see a lot of back and forth type action.
