Emotions Override Earnings
Traders seemed to step away from the risk-aversion trade today ... for about two hours. At this stage, we are just fighting for an unchanged day, which would be a win for the bulls, but given the action over the last eight days, nerves are still bound to be high going into the overnight session.
The trade still feels like U.S. Treasuries, Swiss franc and/or gold buying when equities are selling off, and vice versa. Just as it looked like Treasuries were about to break down to much lower levels, they stormed back, and that has halted the advance on equities.
