Off the Charts

It was an inside day in the S&P and Dow as traders most likely await the Fed rate decision this Wednesday. The major indices traded in a tight range all day and posted small losses today as the S&P finished down 0.37%.

In the late summer weeks the market can often twist in the wind if there is no major price catalyst. The action has indeed been choppy recently, but overall the S&P is holding up well as it builds a new upper level range between 1670 and 1700.
