Lately, it seems companies are coming up with new ways to create yield for income-starved investors every day. But some of the vehicles are much sturdier than others, and Home Loan Servicing Solutions (HLSS) is one of those.

HLSS is a newly incorporated independent foreign investment firm headquartered in George Town, Cayman Islands, that was created solely to acquire mortgage-servicing assets. For all intents and purposes, the company is a spinoff of Atlanta-based Ocwen Financial (OCN), a residential and commercial mortgage loan servicing and asset management firm.
