Have to Own Your Trades

It's not market related, but LeBron James is stealing all the headlines today with his announcement he is returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It's just as well as there isn't much outside of Amazon (AMZN) really happening today.

In trading, I think the idea of owning is important. Owning a trade, but not owning an idea. You can have an idea or a thesis, but don't get caught up in the mindset that you and you alone own that idea. There can and will be others who share a similar outlook, whether it be on an individual stock or a macro thesis. When you get caught up in the notion the idea is "yours," then you can quickly find yourself in trouble. Ego will start to take over.
