Panera Bread Is a Bargain

Many columnists have noted that there are few bargain-priced stocks left after the market's run into record territory. Most of the stocks hitting new lows have serious problems. That doesn't seem to be the case with Panera Bread Company (PNRA), even though it joined that club this week by carving out a new two-year nadir intra-day Monday, at $146.32.

PNRA had firmed up slightly, to $148.55, by mid-afternoon Tuesday. While growth has stalled over the first half of 2014, the company baked up a spectacular record over the most recent decade.
