Major average finished near session with nice gains and near session highs Friday, one day after Thursday's selloff had cast a serious pall on the nascent market uptrend.
The rebalancing of the Russell indices Friday resulted in elevated volume on the NYSE and Nasdaq. Volume on the NYSE expanded to just over 1.3 billion shares, nicely above its average daily volume of around 850 million shares.
