Assessing the Basic-Materials Charts
I've been hesitant to jump into Cliffs Natural Resources (CLF), mainly because of the weekly chart. The company is sporting a 5% yield now, although one must take into account that the current $0.625 quarterly dividend was just $0.28 in the past year and $0.14 the year before that, so we can't cement the 5% yield into place.
It is possible that CLF reverts to the lower amount if things get tight. However, the company has been significantly increasing its dividend the past few years, so I do believe a quick reduction is unlikely.
