Starbucks Should Grind Higher

Today, the news is abuzz with chatter about the rising price of a cup of coffee. Yesterday, J.M. Smucker (SJM), which owns the Folgers brand and is closely allied with Dunkin Brands (DNKN), announced its first price increase in three years.

The price of coffee declined steadily from 2011 through 2013, and those were good years for both of the above companies.
