EMC Extends Its Powerful Move

EMC (EMC) is ramping today on very heavy trade. The stock began the session with a huge gap-higher open that lifted it more than 5%. The news-driven breakout (see Bret Jensen earlier today) has pushed EMC past heavy trendline resistance, setting up the stock well for a run to new 2013 highs.

The powerful move today extends the May 16 breakout. Two weeks ago, EMC jumped 4.5% on its heaviest upside trade in over a year. The move put some distance on what had been a heavy 50-day moving average. The consolidation that followed held this key level.
