I'm curious as to how many folks will be going long equities into the close tonight. It's been a long time since we've had a negative Tuesday. I enjoy listening to my father talk about the last negative Tuesday. The grandkids are enthralled, too. The Tuesday the market fell by 1% yet, somehow, through grit and determination, he survived it. It was the spring of aught-five, but the heat had come early, making it feel like the height of summer. The city had come to a standstill save the kids playing in the water from a fire hydrant. He knew it would be a tough day, but didn't realize how tough it would be. By the end of the day, not only was the thermometer red, but the tickers on his computer screen bled the monitor red. Thankfully, no trader in 2013 has had to know such horrors.
