Here Comes the Suncor

Lately, we've been digging up some good trades with some relatively unexciting names. While the headlines have been dominated by Google (GOOG) and Apple (AAPL), we've been able to find some diamonds in the rough. For example, MasTec (MTZ) has been a big winner this month, though it's not a name you hear in the news very often. Boston Properties (BXP) is another example of a high-flying stock that usually glides under the radar. Sometimes it can be rewarding to dig around in the dark corners of the market.

Right now, I'm looking at Suncor Energy (SU) a diversified oil-and-natural-gas company that helped pioneer the commercial development of Canada's oil sands. After a quick run-up over the past month, Suncor shares are catching their breath by forming a tight consolidation pattern -- one that's similar to the one that had formed in Lululemon Athletica (LULU) earlier this month.
