General Dynamics in Overdrive

General Dynamics (GD) continues to impress. The aerospace/defense company has been on fire since mid-April. After suffering a pre-earnings flush, GD rocketed higher following its first-quarter report. Shares gained 7% after the news on very heavy trade, completely reversing the previous sell-off. The momentum continued the next day, pushing the stock up another 2.5% on strong volume. The monster week finished with GD at new 52-week highs by putting considerable distance on the January highs of $72.

GD stalled a bit near the 2012 peak at $74.50 but a pullback was avoided. During the first week of May, the stock cruised right past the April 2012 highs.
