Paying for YouTube -- What's Next?

Never one to sit on its laurels, Google (GOOG) has finally announced the long-suspected subscription business model for YouTube. Subscription fees will start at $0.99 per month, and once you've signed up, you can watch your pay channel on your smartphone, tablet, PC or connected television.

While the notion of watching your content across your devices is not new, this move by Google could help spur adoption and further pressure what hasbeen called appointment TV viewing.
