A Compelling Stock Flies Under the Radar

Regular readers of this space know that I cover a variety of topics -- stocks, currencies, technical analysis and fundamental analysis -- and sometimes place trades that are based on a combination of these elements. When I'm searching for stock-trading candidates, I run both technical and fundamental screens. On rare occasions, a company's balance sheet and chart will both make the cut, and its stock will appear on both screens.

This week, when I ran a technical scan for stocks that were pulling back from their highs, an unfamiliar name popped up. Perhaps it hadn't appeared earlier because it was trading beneath key moving averages, or because of the stock's small size. A recent rally toward multi-year highs pushed its market capitalization above the $2 billion threshold, which is my cutoff point.
