A Roller Coaster of Sentiment

If you feel as though you are being chopped up in this market, you probably are. If you feel as though sentiment is a roller coaster, that's because it is.

On Wednesday morning I showed the Investors Intelligence readings and how one might find something either bearish or bullish in them. As I noted, there was something for everyone. Some might say there are too few bears. I would be in that camp. I do not believe it is bullish that there are only 20.4% bears. About the only good news I can take from this is, since the 2009 low, the tops in the 2010-to-2011 market both came when there were fewer than 20% bears.
