LinkedIn's Scary Setup
Even though most of the talk right now surrounds Facebook and its forthcoming IPO, which we know is targeting a valuation of $85 to $95, LinkedIn (LNKD) was there first. I would be willing to argue that LinkedIn really kicked off the social media IPO craze. Tonight we'll hear from it, and it's one of the highest flyers in the group. LinkedIn has been able to hold much of its initial IPO pop, unlike so many others.
LinkedIn has that "perfect" setup for volatility after earnings, which makes it so scary. Premium is high, so you generally need a big move to make an options trade work well if you are a buyer.
