One From the Heartland
Before we see earnings reports from Visa (V) and MasterCard (MA), we'll hear from Heartland Payment Systems (HPY).
I remember this one all the way back to its IPO days. Everyone is waiting for MA and V, but the early play here looks like HPY. I will say upfront that I wish I'd see less insider selling. The CEO's selling is automatic and much of it derived from exercising stock options, but I will say it is a little unnerving to see him selling over and over and over again basically every share he has available to him. Of course, he then gets reloaded after exercising options. But then he begins machine-gun selling all over again. But it is hard to argue the company's performance and guidance last quarter. On top of that, the charts are set up rather well going into earnings. What looked to be a breakdown just a few days ago looks like it was a shakeout instead. ...431 more words left in this article.
