Inflation Frustration
It's nice to be back in the saddle following the final whirlwind of college tours late last week for our firstborn. This is our first foray into the world of higher education for our children, and it's been quite the eye-opener. (It's even better that a decision has been made, and we only have to repeat this process twice more!) Although I did miss the Biglari Holdings (BH) shareholder meeting on Thursday, it was worth the temporary sanity that will return to our home, at least for a while, now that the college search is complete. (I would be interested in a recap of the meeting, however, if any readers or fellow contributors happened to attend.)
One of the themes that came up throughout last week's journey was inflation. Of course, those thoughts were initially driven by the increases in college costs, as I calculated the compound annual growth rate between what I paid during my own freshman year, and what our daughter will be paying at the same institution 28 years later (5.55%, and that's better than most)....353 more words left in this article.
