Google's Report Adds Little to the Party
Normally, stock splits are greeted with a cheer; however, in Google's (GOOG) case, it is more like a Bronx cheer. Google's new theme song is "It's My Party and You Can Buy If You Want To." The soon-to-be oligarchy has started the countdown toward shareholder silence.
The quarterly results weren't overly impressive, nor were they a disaster. I suppose uninspiring is the best word, but I can't decide how I feel about the split. I was bullish on Google back in December and see this split as receiving a backhanded compliment.
