A Walk on the Retail Side

Given all the headlines about Cyprus and Europe, trading today is more like gambling with a disadvantage. It's like playing five-card draw and only getting four cards. Sure, you can still win, but the odds are against you. Cash is a position. Of course, if your cash is in a Cyprus bank, it may be a position you can only access a little bit at a time. I'm not sure why anyone would want to leave their money there at this point.

We will get a few earnings looks before trading begins tomorrow. Nike (NKE) and Tiffany & Co. (TIF) will give us a glimpse of the retail side of things with an international flavor. Of course, TIF gives us a peak into the higher end of retail. But I have concerns based on the technical picture. Both NKE and TIF have a technical risk setup into earnings that favors the bears over the bulls. I expect both stocks to move, but I only see about a $2 move on NKE, and TIF looks like it could be setup for a $4 or $5 move....180 more words left in this article.
