Gains Are Becoming More Difficult
The news has been trumpeting the fact that this has been the longest string of up days in the Dow in about 25 years. I went back and found when it was: July 22 to July 31, 1987. But the press failed to mention that while the market was making that high at 2588, it preceded the slide that ended with the October crash. It marked the top of the market, which was not to be exceeded for two years.
