Tough Going for Shorts

Shorts are still difficult to find in this market other than a quick swing trade here or there.  It's easier to wear shorts overnight in Minnesota right now than it is to hold shorts overnight in your portfolio.

I still hold a few shorts via puts, mostly left over from earnings plays, but nothing that carries any value or significance. Even holding a short volatility pair with equities has not worked well for three days in a row now. This is the longest I've seen the trade take it on the chin and the hardest hit as well. There is still a large contango here, so I am willing to hold as I think it will give way, but it may not be until LTRO is complete.
