Getting Into Bed With a Volatility Trade
Isn't it always the case where your best planned trade out of a group is the one you didn't do? F5 Networks (FFIV) fits that bill for me. The outlined trade of call spreads and calendar spreads has nearly doubled on the day. Meanwhile, the Netflix (NFLX) trade has gone from the high $12s to just over $15 and the nearly $25 spent on the Apple (AAPL) trade is trading only about a dollar higher.
Now, I can't complain about the other two trades. I wasn't looking for home runs, but those stocks delivered home runs for anyone who played the direction correctly or went long volatility. The FFIV trade was also a home run, but only if you got off the bench. My backside is still squarely planted there.
